Will the decrease in oil prices cause large negative GDP?
This is a question that has been bothering me for the last few weeks. Do you remember last quarter's GDP numbers?
Not many people believe that GDP was this positive last quarter, and once you look into the numbers, it is clear that GDP was and is artificially inflated by an accounting quirk that makes increased energy prices show up as increasing GDP.
So now that Oil prices have fallen over 50% from their highs, will we see a corresponding fall in GDP for the quarter? Inquiring minds want to know....
